Goswami Kriyananda's guru Shelly Trimmer framed everything with a mystic's point of view. Here is his definition of astrology:

"What is astrology? Basically speaking, astrology is the language of the soul, an expression of the spirit, the law of the Self. Each night, as you sleep, your dreams are composed of its language. It is You, and the basic laws of the You applied to this sector of time and space, on this planet Earth, in this solar system of soul, with this Sun."


This quote is from Ray Grasse's book When the Stars Align. A whole chapter in this book is a transcript of a rare lecture on astrology by Sri Shellyji. Ray also wrote a whole book about Shelly: An Infinity of Gods: Conversations with an Unconventional Mystic.
