The Full Moon, which is also a partial Lunar Eclipse, is on Saturday, October 28 at 3:23 pm CDT in 5° Taurus. Taurus is an earth sign with a strong connection to the material world and our possessions. With Jupiter conjunct the Moon in the eclipse chart, it's a good time for gratitude for what we have but also to be open to receive even more blessings both material and spiritual. Mars at 11° Scorpio is opposed to Jupiter and Moon in the eclipse chart which suggests there may be an urge to force life changes in conflict with the Taurus desire for stability. An example would be the ambition to start an exercise program versus the inclination to watch TV in a comfy chair. Using the impulse to change by channeling it into a slow but steady (Taurus) plan of action may be the wisest at this time. If you enjoy chanting, here's a mantra aligned with the principles of Taurus (and its planetary ruler Venus). "Om Shrim Maha Lakshmiye Namaha" It is a mantra honoring Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth, prosperity and generosity. Deva Premal does the chant on this video. Coming up:

The days close to a Saturn station we are usually overloaded with work or experiencing time delays on projects or just trying to get somewhere on time. Schedule break time into your day planner and give yourself extra minutes to travel to appointments. At the Temple: The Annual Blessing for the Departed held by the Temple of Kriya Yoga will be this Sunday, October 29, 2023 beginning at noon central via Zoom. The New Moon is a Solar Eclipse. It is on Saturday, October 14 at 12:54 pm in 21° Libra. A new moon is a new beginning for the month ahead. A solar eclipse symbolizes a new beginning for the year ahead. It can be very valuable to affirm your most important goal by writing it down or even taking some small step toward it. In general a Libra solar eclipse puts the focus on the concept of balance. (The symbol for the constellation Libra is the scales of balance.) Finding balance in life is always a challenge. Use the next few days to observe where your life may be out of balance. Look for ways to bring greater harmony into your life. Balancing and rebalancing in everyday life is a partner practice to your sitting meditation. Libra is an air sign which signifies communication is the key right now. Sometimes it's communication with your own self. Check out this article from Scientific American about doing some free writing to get your thoughts on paper.
I've been enjoying some writing salons via Zoom with The Narrative Method where participants are given a prompt, free write for awhile, then share with small supportive breakout groups. I find it very restorative and personally insightful. Astrology Students: A great way to support your astrological studies is comparing what you read in biographies and memoirs with that person's horoscope. Right now I'm reading "Make It So" a memoir by Patrick Stewart, one of my favorite Star Trek actors. Before starting, I found his birth data at the astrodatabank and ran off his natal horoscope. As he's describing his life, I look to see how his chart lines up with his personal stories. He has no birth time listed so I ran off the chart for noon and just used a flat chart. If you're a person who likes astrological challenges like rectification, you could use the clues in the book to get a time frame for his birth. Then use his key life events to narrow the birthtime down and discover his rising sign. Another great way to advance your astrological studies is through the Temple of Kriya Yoga's online Professional Astrology Course. There's a new payment plan for the course. If you choose to pay the whole amount at once, there's a discount. But you can also select to pay for one part at a time. Check it out at: https://templeofkriyayoga.org/professional-astrology/ If you have any questions about the course material or would like a Zoom tour of the learning website, please feel free to contact me. |
